Grapes and Ghosts Wine Tours

Our .6 mile guided Grapes and Ghosts Wine Tour takes you to five different locations in Dahlonega’s square where you can sample our local wines while listening to stories about our town’s distinctive history and haunted tales from each stop.

On our first stop is our own Grapes and Ghosts Tasting Room. Meet the "Jake's Girls", who haunt our own establishment and enjoy some delicious wine from Georgia Winery, Georgia's oldest farm winery.

Our second stop is the Dahlonega Tasting Room. As the oldest tasting room in the square, you will experience its distinctive history, which leads to a few spine chilling paranormal accounts, all while sampling wines from Habersham Winery.

Our third stop is the beautifully renovated Dahlonega Square Hotel. The resident ghost is a hospitable, matronly woman who likes to make sure you are well taken care of.

Our last (and most favored) stop is Canvas and Cork, a wine tasting room that doubles as an art gallery and hotel. With its already inimitable ambience, Canvas and Cork holds a past well known to the locals as the Stanton Storehouse, which was built in 1884.

You must be 21 or older and have your I.D. with you at each stop. This is an indoor tour, and alcohol is not included in the ticket price. Please allow approximately two hours for the tour and, above all, have fun!

*Other locations may be substituted, based on availability.

When:

Thursdays through Sundays at 8pm

Historic Ghost Tour

Our Historic Ghost Tour is a 1.5-mile guided tour of Dahlonega with approximately 15 stops, including our historic Courthouse, the square’s popular café and most haunted restaurant, the Crimson Moon, other historic residences around the square, including the Vickery House, and stop at our town’s significant military university founded in 1873. In the Summer months, we also include a walk through Mount Hope Cemetery, which includes veterans from every war and Dahlonega’s most distinguished past citizens, and much more!

Included as part of the tour is a dive into the rich and fascinating history of Dahlonega, from it's origins in the 1800s when it was the tribal home of the Eastern Cherokee Nation, through the gold rush of 1829, the removal of the Cherokee, the Civil War years, and the fate of the town after the gold ran out. Learn about some of Dahlonega's more colorful residents, such as Maggie Meaders, Billy Miner, Colonel William Pierce Price Jr., and the notorious General Harrison W. Riley.

This tour is the result of countless hours of research and investigation, personal accounts from around our town, and even professional paranormal investigations performed by experts. Children are welcome (at your discretion). Please allow up to 2½ hours for this  tour, so please join us for a haunting good time!
